by subacati
Ok, so it was a hoax, but I like the idea of it anyway! π

We freakin' rule! :headbang::p
It looks about right to me hoax or not… π
If there was a minus figure showing, it would be those people who've paid for the Chrome OS laptop π

This is what I keep saying about journalism. They race to get the story first and, if others have reported on it, they have a "me too" attitube that makes them print the story too. At no point in there is there any simple fact checking.I came across this a week or so ago and immediately smelled a rat when it was the very first data released by this company, and they had done the work over ten years, having precognitive knowledge that the data would be interesting. I didn't print because it didn't sit right and yet again I've been proven right by this.Hmmm, maybe Opera users are smarter than the average bear after all… :sherlock:
I don't find their research method to get that result. π Hmm, so I agree with Mik!! π
I don't know if we're smarter. But we are definitely different than the average FB or MS user. Though, I think it might be the name Opera that attracts a particular set of people. Not to mention that its free.:hat:
It doesn't take a genius to figure out that it must have been an Opera fan that set this hoax up. :p.

Put up a Poll in your Sidebar, Aadil.Anyone who submits an incorrect vote, as in a Non-Opera vote, hunt them down and Mina Lo Shaya Wena the snot out of them.
However, that could have explained why Opera's market/usage share is so low π Only fraction of people can be smart π And me currently using Firefox to write this shows that I'm not :left: Got to get Opera installed on this computer soon because it makes me smarter

.Actually, just knowing that it's possible to install another browser automatically places someone in the 'above average' IQ category. :sherlock:.
. And no, I didn't edit that comment to make it funny!.
mari juana writes:i have a one word remark regarding this statistic… bulllll shit! okay… maybe two. anyway, i have been a long time opera user who loves the browser. however, as soon as i hear about the claim that opera users have a higher IQ i new right of the bat that this was nothing less than a marketing gimmick, and i was being played with. don't play games with me, opera!!!! i (like every one else on this planet) have a fragile ego and a weakness for false flattery. so don't be teasin' me, son!anyway, i'll have you know that after this little trick i'm very tempted to delete you completely off my computer and bring back my firefox browser, you dark and shady niggas.peace out.
To coin a phrase :"And there I used all of my IQ":)
Is anonymous a sinonym for a**hole? I don't like being toyed with either. But, I'm not about to 'go postal' because of it. :p
Well, 'her' name seems to be 'Mary Jane'.
I like opera. all the other browsers i'ved tried are so slow that i can't stand them. Opera has some glitches and it can be retarded sometimes. But, all i have to do is try to download with my proprietary browser and i remember why i use opera!
I use FF exclusively, prefer it totally and don't use Opera at all as a browser (and I've tried most of the numerous Windows browsers) – the Opera community is why I'm here
I thought that was supposed to mellow you out? There's alot of other issues to get fired up about and agencies to be pissed off at. Opera is a harmless community of offbeat people. Firefox is probably a better home for mary jane and her comedy act anyway.
Psssht! Me and you are the ones keeping this thing afloat~~ π
Lingers on this post for a while then leaves.
I know that this is fake but yet…It sounds good π This sounds good too:
π
Sounds totally real to me. And for a fact, Opera Community members are very different breed from those who spend most of their time on FB and My Space
Ho ho ho, my friend, surely you'll need to have a high IQ for using Opera. Anyway, I didn't succeed to get it running properly (properly) on Mint 11… The reasonS for that are simple to explain but too difficult to understand I think. Let's wait for Ubuntu 11.10 to see… :p
.
lol nice, one more point for Opera
Yes, Gia is right. Opera has its advantages. If I owned a mobile device I would most certainly use it. I recommend it to those users. However, on my desktop PC with Linux I use it as a secondary browser for personal reasons (f.ex. some special access licenses that can't be kept in it).The glitches (Gtk+Java hickups, theming) are annoying still, but not of a serious nature. It's still too much Windows oriented, but that will possibly end with Win8… π :p :pingu:
