My Gmail needs some Spring Cleaning.

Of course, as it's still early in Winter, that can wait until September/October :p …

:eyes: At least your inbox has more emails then your spam box. ๐
That last comment just sounds filthy rude to me.
That's worrying that there are more emails in Aadil's inbox than spam. I mean, the gems of spam that get into his email account! ๐

I've zapped the spam folder many times over the last six months! I'm just not good at continuous housekeeping! :p
Hi Adil,I have 2 Gmail accounts. My hobby one doesn't get any SPAM!!! My main one however was up to 50-60 SPAM a day up until a couple of weeks ago. Now it is down to 1-3 every 2-3 days.I still am getting all my wanted Emails as far as I know which I use filters on, to "Spring" clean them. Then all I have to do is hit Archive on them when I am through with them in the inbox. Great going Gmail!!! You learn well which ones I don't ever want!!! I like the Gmail system very much!!!
Select all and delete would do that cleaning very fast ๐

Gmail doesn't seem to have a 'select all' option! :p So it's one by one until I'm finished! btw: those are only the unread emails. (the rubbish that I really didn't need to receive) the ones I've read and just haven't archived yet are even more!!! :yikes::lol:
Aadil, are they all unread mails?

Adil, Select All( the top most check box, then locate the Trash Can Icon, about in the middle of the Icon Row….. Originally posted by qlue:
If you set up a filter that keys off of the "CRAP" unique identifier, one can than just send it to a label directly, by passing the inbox(Archiving it directly). I wouldn't delete it immediately just incase there is something that gets caught in the filter that you really want. Something that you probably already know, Google's Filters and Search are heavy into Boolean Algebra.Addtional #1 And #2
That'd drive me nuts. i hate leaving unread.

I don't have that in Gmail. Only in MyOpera mail. :sherlock:And since when does Gmail have icons? :p The delete button says "Delete" :whistle:Originally posted by MirabelaTM:
Gmail only shows the unread emails there! :pBut those are mostly emails I just couldn't be bothered to read really! :pNot seriously desperate life and death stuff! :rolleyes:Which probably explains why I don't bother with a Crackberryยฎ :pOriginally posted by Spaggyj:

Since the Desktop version started using ActiveX. Sorry I forgot you use a dumbphone ๐ ๐ the Smartphones Apps have Icons as well. Is it time to enter the 2YTeens, Adil? It probably would be very difficult to manipulate Gmail now with all the advancements they have done. I know 3-4 years ago when I was doing it on a dumbphone it was difficult enough then. Now I don't even do what I am talking about on my Smartphone(Samsung Note) or Tablet(Asus EeePad). I only do that level of organization on the desktop.
Actually, that was on my laptop. :pThe "new and improved" version of Gmail is too slow and doesn't let me open a hundred emails in separate tabs! :irked:It take way too long for a single email to download and render for me to open them only one at a time! :rolleyes:So I've stayed with the faster version of Gmail that lets me use one of Opera's best features… tabbed browsing! :p
Oh…. I have no problem with multiple tabbed Gmail in Opera or Chrome. I have high speed Broadband so speed is no problem. ๐
i have just ended deleting some messages from my email-box and came to her
Aadil, you should see my inbox. I usually have about 100-200 every day in that, not read yet…but in the already read, right now, i am up to 17,759 not archived…lol

I can't open any Gmail in tabs.I don't like the way Opera Mail stops you backing into your blog account if you forget to tab it open. You can just leave your spam folder collecting dust. Once it reaches 1000 Google trips the bucket on them.
Whoa, that's a lot of mails! :faint:Did you clean 'em all out already?
Well, I have only 21 spam messages, but over 3000 unread messages :faint:

The 'new' version of Gmail uses javascript instead of html which prevents you from opening email in separate tabs. The older version loads faster and uses links, so you can use tabs with it! :pOriginally posted by Zaphira:
Actually, they've increased a lot since then! :left:Originally posted by serola:

One easily gets plenty of unread messages from forum and blog notifications ๐
