Finally, one for the ladies!
by subacati
I get spam emails all the time. The number of African Princesses that have emailed me is easily more than the number of known African states! 🙄
This is the first time an email from a man seeking a woman has arrived though! :left: So it may be a new take on an old idea. :irked: …
So, if the ladies have been feeling left out, meet John Awater from Sweden. He's embarrassed about his accent because, according to him, they don't speak much English in Sweden. 🙄
The reference line reads, "Hi,i am a single man looking for true love honest and caring woman."
The email itself meerely instructs the reader to open the pdf attachment.
And here it is, :p

i just can't understand why people don't just go out in the solid world and meet people. he would find a mate a lot quicker that way. interesting.but he should check the statistics on how many men in their fifties hook up again. i don't remember the percentage but it is a slim few. 💡
And his 'ascent' isn't Swedish at all. And Swedish schools (like all Scandinavian schools) have been teaching children English from second grade since some time in the late fifties. No living Scandinavian iz dad bad on Anglis.
Evidently he likes his women bearded and male :p

That's what I found really amusing. The thing is, most South African's wouldn't know that. :rolleyes:Originally posted by Spaggyj:
Yeah, he's really picky isn't he? :p
Yeah I definitely wouldn't be opening that email. At least it's not a penis enlargement email for a change. Nice ladies are finally getting some directed spam then, go us? 🙄

You're getting desperate now Aadil! 😆
The bloke seems to be living in a tent. That's very… erm… unique for a Swede. Around my parts it rains 6 out of 10 days, and the constantly blowing North Sea Gales make it almost impossible to even put a tent up. And it's even worse in Sweden.
Assholes.I actually experienced this last year. A colleague of mine had met this super charming man online. British, but living abroad and working in the same line of business as this fellow in your post. Lots of photos, and single parent as well. Everything was hunky dory and he was supposed to move to Norway, they were going to buy a house in England etc.I smelled something fishy and did some research one afternoon. Of course, but sadly, I found out this was a romance scammer. Still – they do some research about the people they are impersonating (like – there's probably a man with the same name working for that company). It was with very heavy heart I went to work the next day because I knew I had to tell her she was living on lie. A lie being a guy sitting on an internet café in Nigeria…To be honest – I didn't think people fell for this sort of stuff anymore, but unfortunately they do 😦
Would the scammer have requested money to fly to Norwayshare price of downpayment on house and that sort of thing? I wonder, when successfully hooked up, how the scammer actually proceeds…

Among other things that they do, they get the needed details to arrange marriage papers. (to get citizenship etc.)Here in South Africa, they recommend that unmarried women check with the Department Of Home Affairs regularly to ensure their details haven't been used to "marry" them illegally! :insane:It's totally sick and makes the fake banking emails look like a child's game in comparison. :cry:Originally posted by rose-marie:
Everyone has a weak spot. For most decent, caring people, it's our emotions. We're vulnerable, and once our emotions and our trust have been violated like this, e become less likely to trust our heart the next time. The sad thing is, the next time a genuine person comes along, we don't trust them! :awww:

Perhaps he had this son with a German woman with the surname Also, and out of courtesy adresses him Herr Also. The lacking 'r' is just a typo. Or, perhaps, this Herr Also is an entirely different character who absolutely has to be accepted. I am picking up some very disturbing vibes right now. Sounds like some sinister James Bond villain. "Undermensch! You vill accept mein ausority, or I shall haff you shot!"

:lol:Actually, many Black people here don't have English as a first language. Due to a grammar quirk of African languages, some people who don't have English as a first language get the gender types confused with pronouns! :pIt's a bit like when a native English speaker attempts to speak Spanish or French. Gender is handled differently from one language to the next. 🙄
Oh Rose, that's heartbreaking 😦
yeah… Shame 😦

I have a 'friend of a friend' who, we believe, has been scammed in such a way (not with the same story, but nonetheless…)Heshe doesn't think (yet) that heshe has been scammed. We suspect but say nothing, simply commiserate. The person's misery is intense, it's heart-wrenching.
Malizelle writes:I received the same mail on 29/12/12 from Dennis Chris. Different picture! What a hunk!!! Charming, loving, caring, loveble, just the man any woman could dream off. Forwarded e-mail to my friend. If you phone his cell – no reply, but if you phone from private number he clearly tells you that he does not take "private number" calls. And this morning she did some homework and forwarded me the "scam" letter that is posted on this blog. Thank you for modern technology!!! Scarry wat you get out in the world. Another one bites the dust!!!

they got married.. :p
It's an updated version of the classic Lonely Hearts Scam, only that old trick was targeted at widows who just lost their spouce, preferably, of course, widows with money. It's pretty serious business. Here's a link to a report on the thing. It's from last year, but nothing has changed.
It's like cyber rape! :insane:
demonseed! :insane:
I'm thinking that 'the Internet' has made a whole new vector, for the people who prey on the weak and needy. As far as I can tell, the first internet dating site was matchmaker.com, which started as a BBS in 1983. The online lonely hearts scamming started then, no doubt. Having said that, there must also have been BBS chatrooms that offered similar opportunities. Before that, it must have been down to lonely hearts clubs, dating agencies and perhaps singles bars – maybe lonely heart ads in newspapers. Allany of which, I would think, made the whole exercise a lot more complex.Any thoughts?

Back then, the scammers were simply called gigolos and they actually gave their 'victims' some temporary fulfilment.
I don't think prostitution in any form is what these turds who fish for hearts and subsequently defraud then of their money are all about. To them, it must be like playing an online game of wits, and getting paid if you score.

I'm using the term 'gigolo' in it's earlier form here. With Giacomo Casanova probably being the most infamous! Although he seems to be seen in a far more romantic light than he should be! 😉
