Thoroughly Scrambled!
by subacati
For those of you who haven't noticed, everything is now thoroughly scrambled here! This may be the result of a botched site update or it may be the result of a successful DDoS attack!
Either way, it may be the death knell for this place! :awww: (is there any point to my adding smilies when the image servers are on the fritz! :left: )

It's fast, it's simple, it's secure. And invisible.
Everything is … weird. I can't see the avatar pics and things aren't loading well. π¦
I reckon the volcano under their Icelandic server erupted. :pAndreas Parslow (digmed) said their hardware specialists were working on it. So my guess is some short circuited cables, rather than DDoS.
Things seem to be coming back, slowly. I suppose all we can do is give it time. :wait:As I keep reminding hungry, patience is a virtue.
The problem is that patience eventually does wear a bit thin. We now have to scan Twitter to get 'news' about there problems as they don't seem to update any of their blogs anymore. :awww::sst: apparently, they had a hardware malfunction btw.

I'm dusting of my old Amstrad computer as we speak, just incase this is what I suspect: the prologue to THE TOTAL WORLD WIDE DIGITAL BREAKDOWN. Does anyone have the original tapes?
Originally posted by Aqualion:
No, but you can download the files from somewhere and use a modern solution! .How to use .wav files on your original 8bit computer:sst: that link is for Amstrad but the technique suggested should work with any tape system used by 8 bit machines.
Martin, it would be better to have programming codes. Printed π
It was so cool back then. BASIC-writing was something everybody could do, and the standards weren't too advanced, so even a non-geek line me was able to get along. I clearly remember writing my first animation – a dancing man. It took almost an entire afternoon, just typing it in. But it was worth it!
Now it takes three minutes and an app like photoshop or gimp! :p .My brother spent over a month typing in hex coded software from mahazines like Compute! :faint: .Those checksum programs didn't catch every typing error either! :insane: .

I loved the one with the archaelogist exploring chambers in a vast labyrinth, and he would turn into a werewolf with intervals, becoming able to break through doors and stuff. All in green-on-black, the basic vision of computing. There was also a Batman game. I only have dim memories from that period.
I just wondered what the heck has happened to your avatar and blog, Qlue π¦ And why just your blog. Or are there also others who have something gone missing from blog layout?

That's a nice new avatar, Aadil :up:Originally posted by qlue:
Nah. They're back at dad's in Sweden. He keeps telling me to take the old computer with me everytime I'm there, though. One of these days I might. π
