We get downpours that cause the sewer lids to blow off, too … sometimes as high as 4' in the air. It doesn't seem to happen as often since the "Deep Hole Project" was finished. It stores the rainwater until it's safe to let it go, while preventing it from getting into the genuine sewer effluent, and blowing the treatment plants.
The contents of normal house septic tanks are collected and, in a rural environment at least, sprayed over fields and pasture (sometimes forestry plantations) to enrich the soil :)Originally posted by DH:
It's the same with The Mystery of The Yellow Flower. I'm sure you know what I'm talking about: the flowers that grow at house corners or in remote parts of gardens and yards where no other flowers grow. Always yellow. Signalling to male bypassers that here's the place for releasing yourself thus the yellow colour. They are everywhere, because, as any male knows, that certain place where you can respond to nature's call is everywhere.
She's gonna blow :insane:
That's what our dairy farmers do apparently. Collect effluent in milking yard, thin it and sprinkle over the pasture. :cow:
Then the cows eat it and make some more.. Thats re-cycling
You are right. I do put sheep pellets in my vegie patch and eat the vegies grown there. Spring onions love the sheep pellets. π
Its a loop in the food chain π

Like any rapidly expanding volume, give it somewhere to expand and its less dynamic..

It always takes me by surprise how the posts that were nothing more than a fleeting random thought generate the most discussion! π .
