Remember Itsy Bitsy?
by subacati
In June I posted about Itsy Bitsy who came for a visit. Well, it's the middle of summer now and another one has moved in. :insane: .
This one's not shy and seems ready to fight for the right to stay! π₯ .
And no, a big flat shoe is not an option. :irked: .
Thats the problem with spiders, they have no conception of property rights π
Itsy Bitsy has invited family to stay :yikes: :insane:
FINE! No big flat shoe.Sooo … how thick is the local phone book? :sherlock:
Well, a good thing is that those itsy bitsy friends hunt other nasty insects π

I think they probably consider everything to be their property. :left: .Originally posted by serola:

Heyyy! How do you know I didn't mean a thick local phone book as in for use as a sturdy platform on which to carry Itsy Bitsy Spider outside? :left: :right: Whoa! Then again, upon seeing that photo, a thick phone book might not be sturdy enough to carry that 8-legged Mini Dinosaur. That's no Itsy Bitsy. :insane:
Welcome to KZN, home of creatures great and, ur, greater? :left: .
it's actually slightly smaller than the one in June. :p .The problem is, how to catch it without harming it. :sherlock: . (or giving myself a heart attack for that matter! These things can move like lightning when they want to! :insane: )

I second that! :eyes: that's a big one! agghh! yes I can see it's begging to be relocated outdoors, um hmm, yes.
you could always move yourself out and let the ginormous spider have your place. π
You really shouldn't be such a welcoming host…
You could saddle that and ride it to work :eyes:
π .Like I said, this is KZN. We do things big here. :p .Chuck, I think you're laying on the hyperbole a little thick, even for a Texan. .
Okay … get its attention with Cheese, like maybe with a 2-pound chunk of it. While it's wolfing that down, shoot it with a Tranquilizing Dart, possibly 2 if need be. Then while it's dazed, throw a Kevlar tarp on it. It's gotta be Kevlar because it would no doubt chew its way through any regular ole tarp out there.A Taser Gun would be another option.Of course, if my guessing is wrong, you could possibly just piss it off and THEN you'd be in serious trouble. It might want to relocate YOU! It might tell you like that spooky voice in the movie The Amityville Horror, "GET OUT!"
we had a spider in the house the other night that would put that one to shame. jaxs says its a wood spider, and so did mom. i'm glad that fkr wasn't in the bedroom when i'd seen it. it was in the livingroom by the door. i made jaxs get back out of bed and take care of it before it got the idea to come into the bedroom. he had originally sent me out to look at the big lizard on the wall. he didn't see the spider, but i did. next time, i will take a pic of one before i have jaxs squish it.
I know they have some huge spiders up by Moçambique, but I've never seen one. .
*watches Kimmie running away screaming and wonders what Mik's reaction would be* :left: .

That would be Solstice then? :sherlock: .We're baking away in the Summer Solstice on this side of the equator. :faint: .
Happy Yalda Night π
That thing is HUGE! Do you know what kind it is? Not poisonous, I hope! :insane:
Really?'Cause that would be a way of getting rid of it… :right:
I don't care if it's poisonous or not as I have no intention of eating it. :p .But no, I don't know how venomous it is. :left: .
There's a lot more spiders etc. outside. :left:

Just hope that this one doesn't invite all its relatives and friends in for a party :hat:
Hi Qlue; my wife moves spiders out of our home by using an empty fruit jar and a playing card. Jar goes over the spider (open mouth down), playing card slides underneath the jar, then she carries the whole business outside and turns it loose. Works every time with insects and no harm comes to them!
Yes, that's easy with the smaller versions. But It's a lot more difficult with once that's this size. . Anyway, I haven't even seen it again since I took that photo. I think my attempts to catch it that night made it decide to relocate itself. .You did notice the cd I placed next to it in that first photo right? :left: . I don't have a playing card that big.:lol: .
Wow, I didn't notice. That's a BIG SPIDER!
:yikes: Yes, you're right a big flat shoe is not an option, at least I would be scared to step on something this big…I would try throwing a big fat book on it…Originally posted by Hermitess:
or that
Well, I haven't seen it so I assume it's left! :p .:sst: Either that or it's hiding and waiting for me to let my guard down! :insane: .
A big flat shoe is ALWAYS an option! Eeeugh! Everything's bigger in KZN.. spiders, shongololo's :insane:
hey.. :left: Just pick it by hand.. :p I mean what's the worst that could happen? π
It's probably hidden where you expect it least… My sis slept with an big spider under her for less than one week until she has decided to clean her room, it was a huge surprise for her π

No, as you do expect it there…
yey! :insane:madscientistrabobi!
Well, a rolled up newspaper then? :DDon't worry about him. I'd let him stay.
With the size of him its more about whether or not he would let you stay

Well, we probably adopted him!
And there is absolutely no exaggeration in the tales of Paul Bunyan. Gospel truth. Promise.
