Can anyone translate Russian?
by subacati
I found a Russian dubbed version of The Christmas Invasion! :hat:.
Now it's just a matter of waiting till the real copy arrives at the local Musica branch!.
(of course I'm buying an original! :irked:. What do you take me for? A pirate? :pirate:)

Oh! cool!  Bookmarked!
I think it's really cool to Dennis. :):sherlock: Hmmm, may-be if you ask really nice they might do audio translation. :D:p
Yes, but does it translate audio?.If you concentrate real hard, you can just make out the original dialogue under the russian! :p.
 π
This is just temporary, because I'm impatient! but I've ordered the original boxed set! so that will be easier!.
Um. It's an hour long :faint:Anyone want to summarize the story?
Thank you Dennis. HugHe's going to wait for the original boxed set he ordered. π
@ Mags: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Christmas_Invasion is as close as I can come to a summarization. :(@ Aadil: You're on your own with an audio translation. It doesn't have a secondary audio program?@ Carol: π *hug*
I have to anyway. that site only has to episode 5 which is the first half of a two parter! :awww:.(I've spent all night watching Doctor Who in Russian? :eyes:. I must be addicted! :faint::p)
π
Quicker addiction time than heroin, eh? π
A Russian dubbed version of Doctor Who?Does it have sub titles?
no, but the English sound track is not erased. So you actually have loud Russian speech dubbed on top of quieter English speech. :left:.It could be quite distracting for someone who actually understands both Russian and English. :faint:.I was able to 'tune out' the Russian, effectively ignoring it in favour of the underlying English sound track..Kind of like trying to watch your favourite tv show during a noisy party. :sherlock:
I like the thought of Doctor Who in Russian for some strange reason. I can't speak a word of Russian…!
One wonders, if it's quite an old example, if the dialogue has been adjusted to suit the cultural climate of the time….daleks as hypocritical capitalist hyenas and all that π
Doctor Who seems to be popular in Japan as well! I'm impressed!.:sst:. Do ya think that's where they get their tech from? :eyes:.

I try to avoid the ones that are put up in bits and pieces like that because it's a lot of work to put them back together again to watch. :left:. (assuming you can find all ten parts)But thanks anyway..:sst:. The Japanese ones have the original soundtrack and Japanese subtitles..I'm actually suprised that Mik hasn't commented here yet. :sherlock:.
He's probably learning Japanese. Just to be difficult π
π Didn't know Dr. Who had so many fans.:sherlock: Klingon version anyone?
:eek:. That's sacrilege. :irked::p.
Kind of funny though that these movies are still very popular.I used to watch the old versions when it all started but somehow grew out of it. π
i couldn't follow the link , still the net so slow here π¦
