Kill A Turkey Day!
by subacati
I heard that today's the annual wholesale slaughter of turkeys in America.. …
Anyways, to all Americans out there, have a happy thanksgiving!.
Of course, we should celebrate thanksgiving everyday. :hat:
yes !! :hat: for being thankful daily for what we all take for granted!!!thanks Aadil, you will see many posts tomorrow about "Turkey Day" and I will be one of the bloggers that will be cooking and posting at the same time! :lol:Pumpkin pie is also traditional for this day but according to American History there was no Turkey of pumping pie that first Thanksgiving Day π Not too many Americans know this but when you become an American Citizen like myself ,you have to read Social Studies for the test… well the geek I am I did go one step further πhttp://americanhistory.suite101.com/article.cfm/the_first_thanksgiving_daythanks for the good wishes and thanks for supporting our Group with your vote!!
Thanks Aadil!
I guess people are thankful that they aren't turkeys!:)
We have plenty of turkeys in Africa. We call them politicians.
We call ours snakes….
…snakes are worshiped in India aren't they?
Not those ones…:D Some cultures esp in the hilly north regions do consider snakes to be auspicious but some dont.
Probably more….. :PImagine what I had to go throught for my social studies and history exam! π
I understand that. There are almost as many different religions in your country as there are stars in Bollywood. π
I'm glad we didn't have 'social studies' when I was at school. In those days we had 'religious education' instead. Of course, that was mostly just another name for 'christian indoctrination'. In high school we had a very liberal teacher for religious instruction who insisted that we learn a bit about other beliefs. That started me wondering how ten billion beliefs that aren't christian could all be wrong. I came to the conclusion that the idea That God had chosen to reveal himself exclusively to an elitist group of people didn't make sense. I figure that God must have revealed himself to all people. This is something that is also taught in some religions.
:eyes: Qlue… Shame on you for not knowing. The slaughtering of the damn turkeys has gone on for months… We just celebrate it on one day so we can take off work…:devil:
I know that, but I don't want to bust anyone's bubble.
Happy Day to you, Aadil! I didn't slaughter my turkey, got it at the grocers.
